Did some work for an animation movie...i`ll not tell you its name yet, so i`ll call it J&S. ;) Here is a sneak preview:

I did this character concept for a VisualArt challenge. Sort of future gladiator, but no firearms allowed...so here is the big carbon axe, hence his scene name ;)

:::Conan 3:::

First of all, this post is here because #1. I`m a huge Conan fan, and #2. Because last week on 22 of January we were commemorating 100 years of Conan adventures.

The news is that there will be a new movie with my favourite barbarian. This is the good part, I`m happy because the Conan franchise has so much potential.
Warner Bros. Production President Jeff Robinov says a new Conan live action feature film is in the works and that the studio "is committed to producing the film this year." Warners, having revived franchises with Batman Begins and the upcoming Superman Returns, intends to produce Conan with a big budget. According to sources, Robinov is going back to the original Robert E. Howard stories for inspiration.

The bad news is that rummors said that Robert Rodriguez will be the producer of this film. AND THIS SUX ASS! :(( I appreciate Rodriguez, but he is NOT the man to make Conan!

A different sequel, King Conan: Crown of Iron, was in development for years under original Conan the Barbarian writer and director John Milius, but never came together. Arnold Schwarzenegger was to be an older King Conan, and the movie would have been directed by the Wackovski Brothers... and it is sad because this never happened :(((

There is no way to equal the original Conan the Barbarian, and this is not just because of the film but also because of the music of the film, one of the best ever created, a masterpiece composed by Basil Poledouris. The poor sequel Conan the Distroyer (and Red Sonja) were done just for the money, and they are crap, sux bigtime.

Anyway.. the first animated "Conan" movie, "Conan: Red Nails" is also in production, and set for summer 2006 release by New Line Home Entertainment, and a MMORPG is in production by FunCom: Age of Conan.

:::Embrio Bar - drawing/drinking:::

No drawing here, just a picture from a bar i was last weekend in Bucharest, where i met with two friends, talented artists, Dariz and Oblio, both UbiSoft slaves (hehehe!) We just sat there at a few drinks and draw sketches of everything like... "the evil bell final level boss" or "the magic flying cart" :)) Anyway it was fun, and i liked the bar alot - Embrio is its name, great place, great music, great atmosphere.

Nothing really great, just a few sketches for a local contest on VisualArt forum, still searching for what i what to do, something more sci-fi.

Other than that, i just buyed the romanian edition of J.R.R. Tolkien's Unfinished Tales. Since i'm a Lord of the Rings big fan, i'm very happy of this acquisition! :D
Dunno why but i fell so lazy lately... i wanna do many thigs, but... oh well, time for a nap :)

Historical Fiction
Lord George Henry Fredrickson. Mid to late 1800's. Lord Fredrickson is a Lich hunter & Master of the Occult of some quiet acclaim in certain discerning circles. By nature he is a reserved man, brutally intelligent, quick in thought and often in action, but never reckless.

Cursed more than a century ago by an Egyptian Lich, Lord Fredrickson walks the twilight between the true light of life and the enternal darkness of death. He can not die, though he can not really live either.

With each Lich Lord Fredrickson dispatches, he desperately searchers for a counter curse to his affliction, but none have been found, much to his continued frustration. Over the past few decades, his searches have turned more desperate, as madness is slowly claiming him. In his more lucid moments, he fears for those he cares for, but holds little hope of chaging his fortunes. Isabelle, his wife, has been instructed in the art of horcrux destruction, and how to kill a Lich, but as Lord Fredrickson has no known horcrux, it is feared that all efforts will be futile.

This painting got 4 stars out of 5 on CG Society!

Shards of Asgard - plane concept

I did this color concept for a small animation movie called Shards of Asgard, depicting the beginning of Ragnarok (the Apocalipse in Norse Mythology). Was a little challange to do the color because there was no real source of light with no moon and no sun.. only the epic battle in the sky. The original drawing concept was done by a friend of mine, Mates Laurentiu (Avatar), the lead 2D artist of the project.
